Dyslexia affects 20% of our student population. It adversely affects these students' ability to read, write, and spell. Schools do not provide research proven remediation. Schools are scarcely aware the problem exists. Attempts to raise awareness about dyslexia in the school community have thus far proven futile. Said one administrator, "It's not on our agenda." |
