At Brightwire, we use the Barton Reading and Spelling System.
The Barton System is an Orton-Gillingham influenced reading program that follows all the principles of the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC).
It is approved by the California Department of Education, is supported by independent, scientific, replicated, published research, and meets the "No Child Left Behind" requirements.

Tutoring is done one-on-one, for 50 minutes a session, and at least twice a week.
This approach is supported by the International Dyslexia Association, and is the only approach demonstrated by decades of research to significantly improve the reading and spelling skills of people with dyslexia. It is considered "best practice" for the treatment of dyslexia by the National Institutes of Health.
Your child does not need a diagnosis of dyslexia to benefit from the Barton System. Any student struggling with accurate, fluent reading and spelling will benefit tremendously from this type of tutoring.
