What is Dyslexia?
 
Quite simply, dyslexia is an inherited condition that makes it extremely difficult to read, write, and spell in your native language—despite at least average intelligence.
 
 
Warning Signs of Dyslexia:
 
  • trouble memorizing address, phone number
 
  • difficulty learning to tie shoes
 
  • slow, non-automatic handwriting  
     
  • letter or number reversals past the end of first grade    
   
  • extreme difficulty learning cursive 
     
  • slow, choppy, inaccurate reading  
     
  • terrible spelling   
    
  • trouble with sight words 
      
  • difficulty telling time on a clock with hands 
      
  • difficulty memorizing multiplication tables
